How to do a DNA test for immunity
The sample collection process for a DNA test assessing immunity to viruses and bacteria is completely painless and takes approximately 4–6 minutes. The most commonly used DNA sample in this genetic test is a cheek swab taken with a cotton applicator (collection of buccal epithelial cells). This is often referred to as a “saliva test” or the standard DNA sample.
If collecting a standard sample is not possible for any reason, alternative (non-standard) samples may be used instead. These include blood, cigarette butts, hair, biological stains and fluids, nails, eating utensils, and more. See the full list of acceptable DNA sample types and descriptions.
