To create a person’s genetic profile using DNA, samples of a DNA material are required. The process of collecting a DNA sample from participants is completely painless and takes about 4-6 minutes. Commonly, the DNA sample used in the genetic test is an oral swab taken with a cotton swab (cheek buccal epithelium sampling), also called a saliva test (standard cheek-swab samples).
